EHM Tech LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Breakup44 mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. PRIVACY-FIRST DESIGN

Breakup44 is designed with your privacy as the top priority. Your terms, nightly checks, urge logs, written entries and photos, and the day count and milestone calculations are all stored and performed on your device. Your entries are never transmitted to our servers. The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync.

Data stored locally on your device includes:

  • Your terms (the date your count runs from, how long you are aiming for, your chosen and custom rules, your reason, and their name if you add it)
  • Tonight's checks and urges (each night's answer, what pulled at you, and an optional one-line note; each urge you log, what you did instead, whether you got in touch, and an optional note)
  • What really happened entries (what you write, tags, the day, and any photos you pick, which are copied into the App's own storage)
  • Journal entries and fake messages (title, text, and date; fake messages are written to them in the App and are never sent to anyone)
  • Triggers and Signs of abuse answers (What sets me off triggers in your own words, your plan for each, how often it came up and whether it is getting easier; your Often / Sometimes / Never answers and the safety-plan items you tick)
  • Progress and app settings (The first twelve session progress and ticked tasks, badge unlocks, Tonight's check reminder time and muted weekdays, selected theme, onboarding progress and flags)

This information is very personal and may include records of abuse. We do not collect, store, or have access to your terms, nightly checks, urges, journal entries, fake messages, What really happened entries or photos, triggers, Signs of abuse answers, safety plan, or any other personal information you enter into the App. It is stored on your device and is not sent to us. See Data Retention below for how your device's own backups can include it.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

While your entries remain on your device, we collect limited technical data to improve the App:

  • Anonymous usage analytics (via Firebase Analytics) to understand which features are used
  • Crash reports and diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics) to identify and fix app stability issues
  • Purchase data for subscription management (via RevenueCat)
  • Device identifiers for fraud prevention and entitlement validation (via RevenueCat)

This telemetry is anonymous and describes how the App itself behaves: features used, subscription screens shown, which badge was earned, which guided session in The first twelve was reached, and technical crash diagnostics. The App never sends your entries to us or to any third party: no terms or reason, no nightly check answers or notes, no urge logs, no journal entries or fake messages, no What really happened entries or photos, no triggers, and no Signs of abuse answers or safety plan.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are enabled only in release builds and are disabled during development.

Helplines: The helplines listed in the App are run by independent third-party organizations. Tapping Call or Website opens your phone's dialer or your browser, and the App does not record which helpline you contact. Once you call or visit a helpline, that service's own privacy policy applies.

3. NO ADVERTISING

Breakup44 does not display any advertisements. We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not collect or share data with advertisers. Your experience is ad-free.

4. IN-APP PURCHASES

Payment Processing: If you subscribe to the Pro version (offered with a 7-day free trial on yearly and weekly plans), your payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and handled through RevenueCat, our subscription platform. EHM Tech never receives, sees, or stores your payment card details.

Subscription Management: We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat uses anonymous user IDs — no user accounts are required, and your entries are never associated with a purchase. RevenueCat collects:

  • App usage events (app opened, subscription screens viewed)
  • Device type and operating system
  • Transaction data (purchase receipts, subscription status)
  • Last seen time in app

5. SUPPORT CONTACT DATA

If you contact us for support through the App, the support email may include technical information to help us assist you:

  • App version and build number
  • Operating system version
  • Device manufacturer and model
  • RevenueCat anonymous App User ID
  • Timezone

This information is only collected when you choose to initiate contact and is used solely to provide support. It does not include your terms, nightly checks, urges, journal entries, fake messages, What really happened entries, triggers, Signs of abuse answers, or safety plan.

6. DATA RETENTION

Your terms, nightly checks, urges, journal entries, fake messages, What really happened entries and photos, triggers, Signs of abuse answers, safety plan, and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. If you uninstall the App, this data is deleted from your device.

Device backups: Your device's own backups may include the App's data. For example, Android Auto Backup can copy app data to your Google account, and an iCloud or computer backup of your iPhone can include it. An existing backup may still hold this data after you uninstall the App, and may restore it if you reinstall. These backups are controlled by you through your device and account settings, not by EHM Tech.

Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's data retention policies. This data is not linked to your name or to anything you write in the App.

7. PERMISSIONS

The App may request the following permissions:

  • Notifications: To send your Tonight's check reminder at the time you choose, one-off milestone notifications scheduled within waking hours, and a reminder before a free trial ends. On Android, the App also uses exact alarms and boot completed so the nightly reminder fires on time and is re-scheduled after your device restarts. If you decline, reminders are simply not delivered — the rest of the App works normally.
  • Photo library: To let you pick photos to keep with an entry in What really happened. The App uses the photo picker only. The photos you choose are copied into the App's own storage, and your originals are never modified.
  • Internet: Used only for analytics and crash reporting (Firebase) and subscription validation (RevenueCat). Your day count, checks, entries, and tools work offline.
  • No camera, location, or contacts: The App does not request access to your camera, your location, or your contacts.

Your entries are held on-device in the App's own local database and preferences store, and none of the permissions above are used to send them anywhere.

All permissions are optional (except internet, used for purchases and diagnostics) and can be managed in your device settings.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Right to access information we hold about you
  • Right to request deletion of your data
  • Right to limit analytics via your device privacy settings
  • Right to data portability

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
