No Contact Tracker: stay no contact with your ex
Breakup44 counts your days apart, down to the second. When you want to text them, it shows you the reason you wrote down and one thing to do instead.
Days apart
47 days apart
since your last contact
This count is an example. Yours starts from your last contact, or from a date you choose.
Before you reach out
“I deserve someone who doesn't make me guess where I stand.”
What's the pull right now?
Read your own entries instead
You wrote those entries in What really happened yourself, about things they said and did. Read them first, then decide.
Set it up once, then answer one question a night.
Your terms and your reason go in first. After that the app is there when you want to reach out, and for a short check before bed.
Step 1
Write down your terms and your reason
Who you're keeping your distance from, when the count starts, how long you're aiming for, the rules you'll keep, and why. Start now, backdate it to your last contact, or count down to a later date.
Step 2
Open the app before you text them
Before you reach out shows your reason first. Then it asks what's pulling at you and gives you one next step, with a button that opens it.
Step 3
Answer one question before bed
Did you keep your distance today? Note what pulled at you, if you like, and plan for what sets you off. Every answer goes on a 90-day grid.
Only real contact restarts the count.
Tonight's check
Did you keep your distance today?
- Yes, all dayCount keeps going
- Yes, but it was closeCount keeps going
- No, we were in touchAsks you first
A close call still counts.
Wanting to reach out doesn't reset anything.
Opening Before you reach out, logging an urge or writing a fake message leaves your count where it is. It restarts only when you tell the app you were in touch, and even then it checks with you first.
Restart your count?
This sets your count back to zero from this moment. It happens. Your past runs stay in Progress.
Something to do instead of texting them.
Send a fake message
Write to them in a thread that looks like a chat. It never goes anywhere: there's no share button and nothing reaches their phone. When you're done, start over and keep the thread under Past messages, or delete it.
Four ways to calm down
The breathing exercises follow a circle, with optional vibration. No clock to watch, and you can stop whenever you want.
- Box breathing
- Counting breaths
- Humming breath
- Tense and let go
What really happened
Write down what they did while you still remember it clearly, with photos and tags. Read it back when you miss them.
Ten milestones, from one day to one year
Each has a short note on what many people notice around then, and the public health guidance or research behind it. They describe what's common. Your weeks may look different.

At 47 days apart you've passed six, and 60 days is next.
Signs of abuse
Plain pages on ten patterns of controlling behaviour, like decisions made without you, or one rule for them. Mark ten statements Often, Sometimes or Never. Nothing is added up and nothing is labelled. It's a guide, not a diagnosis. There's a nine-item safety plan too.
Seek help lists free, confidential helplines in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, plus a directory for other countries. It's in the menu on every tab.
The first twelve
Twelve short sessions for the first weeks, at most one a day. Each has something to do today and a few extras if you have time.

Start your count when you're ready.
There's no account to make. What you write isn't sent to us, and we never see it. The app sends usage stats and crash reports and checks purchases with the app store, and none of that includes what you write.
Breakup44 is not a crisis line, a medical service, or a substitute for professional support. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. The Signs of abuse guide and safety plan are general information, not a diagnosis or legal advice.
